The Orland Park Lions Club has been serving the community for 60 years, having been founded on March 12, 1964.
The group’s mission is “to create and foster a spirit of understanding among all people for humanitarian needs by providing voluntary services through community involvement…”
According to the Lions International website, the club was created in 1917 by Chicago businessman Melvin Jones. The organization was created “in response to social problems created by World War I.”
